Gimkit's Free Version is Now Worth a Second Look

What is Gimkit ?  Gimkit is a highly interactive and engaging quiz-type game that will leave your students on the edge of their seats. Gimkit has always had a very limited free plan. A few years ago Gimkit made changes that rendered the free version of little use to teachers. That has now changed making the free version of Gimkit worth adding to your toolkit. What is Free. You will get unlimited access to featured modes (that periodically change) as well as the Team and Classic modes that will always be available.  That means you can now play these modes with your whole class. What is not. You still will not be able to upload images, record audio, & create assignments with the free version. You will only be able to Test the other modes NOT listed as "Featured'.  Read More Here

Responses Are Now Automatically Saved for Students in Google Forms

Image
Some exciting news from Google Forms. When enabled Google Forms will save student progress for 30 days.  In the past, I have seen students forced to copy and paste responses into a Google Doc so they could complete a form later. Often when working with students on digital breakouts they need to write down the correct responses so they can complete the form on their own time. Now students' responses will be saved automatically.  For a student to find the draft they were working on they need to reopen the form using the same URL in the same Google Account they used to create the draft. Some caution around this feature: Students may try to submit the finished form after class when they are free to look up the answers.
